Through a small grant, FPATT is implementing a Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) program in private, secondary schools in Trinidad and Tobago.
Two major deliverables are associated with this project, that is, to train teachers from private secondary schools to deliver a planned CSE curriculum during a set time on the school’s syllabus and, to sensitize young people about topical CSE issues as a starting point for the establishment of a CSE peer network. To date, FPATT has established an active
Steering Committee, hosted a Stakeholder’s meeting and conducted a workshop bringing together teachers, instructors and youth advocates to prepare them to implement comprehensive sexuality education sessions with their students and peers.
The project is promising and seeks to support both teachers and students with issues relating to sexual and reproductive health and rights.
